Sandeep Nagpal

Sandeep Nagpal is 29 years old and the 2008 Webster Memorial Trophy Competition Winner. He participated last year as a competitor in the 2007 Webster competition. He currently holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with both multi-engine and group 1 instrument rating and has hopes of a career in commercial operations. He learned to fly at Brampton Flight Centre in 2001. He was fortunate to recently receive the 2007 Top Commercial Pilot Award from the Brampton Flight Centre. It is based on the highest average mark obtained on the CPL written exam and flight test. Sandeep represented Western Ontario this year.

Trevor LeMarquand is 22 years old and the 2008 Webster Memorial Trophy Competition Runner-up. He became interested in the Webster Competition through Dave Blackman, 2007 Maritimes Finalist. He currently holds a Private Pilot Licence with night rating. He learned to fly at Centre de Formation Aeronautique de Quebec in Quebec City in 2006. He is presently finishing his commercial pilot licence training through Moncton Flight College and plans to start his multi-engine training next. Trevor represented Quebec this year.

Kevin Dhaliwal is 23 years old. He is presently a student at Coastal Pacific Aviation, where he learned to fly in 2006 and the University of the Fraser Valley in their Bachelors of Business Administration in Aviation Program. He holds a Private Pilot Licence with night endorsement and is working towards a Commercial Licence. Kevin represented British Columbia this year.

Brandon Jansonius is 19 years old. He became interested in the Webster Competition through his CFI. He is presently a student at Mount Royal College where he learned to fly in 2007. He holds a Private Pilot Licence with night rating. He is interested in a career in commercial operations. He represented Alberta this year.

Andrew Gray is 24 years old. He became interested in the Webster Competition through his instructor and former colleagues at Prairie Flying Service. He learned to fly in 2001 at Parallel Aviation (Campbell River, British Columbia) and Regina Flying Club (Regina, Saskatchewan). He currently holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with night rating. Andrew represented Saskatchewan this year.

Razvan Purza is 19 years old. He was a competitor in the 2007 Webster Competition. He is presently a student at the University of Manitoba. He learned to fly at Harv’s Air in St. Andrews, Manitoba in 2006. He currently holds a Private Pilot Licence. Razvan represented Manitoba this year.

Jordan Hanthorn is 20 years old. His flight instructor encouraged him to enter the competition. He is presently a student at Confederation College. He learned to fly at Fly Right at Springbank Airport (Alberta) in 2006. He holds a Private Pilot Licence with float rating. He is interested in a career in commercial operations. Jordan represented Northern Ontario.

Mark Psutka is 20 years old. He became interested in the Webster Competition through a discussion with the National Administrator. He learned to fly at Ottawa Air Services in 2007. He holds a Private Pilot Licence with night rating. He is interested in a career in commercial operations and would like to build his own aircraft. Mark represented Eastern Ontario.

Jason Gregg is 20 years old. He was a competitor in the 2007 Webster Competition. He became interested in the Webster Competition through his former Program Manager and past Webster competitors. He learned to fly in 2006 at Moncton Flight College where he continues to be a student. He currently holds a Commercial Pilot Licence with night rating, multi-engine and instrument rating. He is interested in becoming a flight instructor and eventually wishes to move on to corporate flying. Jason represented the Maritimes this year.
