2006 John C. Webster Memorial Trophy Competition Finalists

Victoria, BC – August 23rd, 2006

Etienne White

At 29 years old Etienne holds a private pilot license with a multi-engine, multi-IFR and night rating. He’s a graduate from the University of BC with a B. of Sc. in Geography. He moved to Victoria and is training at the VFC for his Commercial License and Instructor Ratings. Etienne is the 2006 Webster Trophy Runner-Up.

Francis Yannuzzi

Francis is 24 years old and is the 2006 Webster Trophy Winner. He holds a private pilot license with a night, multi and seaplane rating. He has a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Ryerson University and is working on his commercial license at the Brampton Flight College. Francis has also been awarded Top Private Pilot 2005 and Top Private Flight Test 2005 from the Brampton Airport, as well has been awarded the COPA Flight 28 Aviation Scholarship for 2006.

Adam Sobchuk

Adam is 24 years old and is the Regional Winner for Western Ontario. He holds a private pilot license with a float rating. Adam has a B.Sc. Degree with a Major in Computer Science and a Minor in Geography from the University of Manitoba. He is currently working on his commercial license at Confederation College.

Brandon Birley

Brandon is 23 years old and is the Regional Winner for the Atlantic Provinces. He holds a private pilot license with a night rating. Brandon is training out of the Moncton Flight College and is working towards a career in commercial airlines.

Derryck Langevin

Derryck is 25 years old and is the Regional Winner for Quebec. He holds a private pilot license and trains out of Academie de L’Aviation Mascouche. Derryck believes flying represents freedom from the everyday world.

Eric Lafond

At 20 years old, Eric is the Regional Winner for Saskatchewan. He holds a private pilot license with a night rating. Eric fly’s out of the Regina Flying Club and attends the Saskatchewan Institute of applied Science and Technology.

Lisa Klassen

At age 21, Lisa is the Regional Winner for Manitoba. She holds a private pilot license with a night rating and is working towards her commercial license with Harv’s Air in St. Andrews, Manitoba. Lisa is a music student attending the University of Manitoba studying the saxophone. She is pursuing a career as a flight instructor.

Paul Mika

Paul is 26 years old and is the Regional Winner for Alberta. He holds a private pilot license with a night rating and trains out of the Calgary International Airport. Paul has a background in computers and networks and is looking towards a career in commercial aviation.

Sarah Allen

At 21 years old, Sarah is the Regional Winner for Eastern Ontario. She holds a private pilot license with a multi-engine rating. She is enrolled in Seneca College and is striving towards a career in commercial aviation.
