Francis Yannuzzi (left, at left) from the Western Ontario Region. Congratulations Francis from the Webster Team (CSAA), Air Canada, the Snowbirds, Transport Canada and all your friends and family. As in previous years, the competition was a great success and the competitors not only participated in a memorable experience but had a terrific time meeting their peers from across Canada. Victoria’s weather could not have been better and our host the Victoria Flying Club and their staff were wonderful to work with. They have a fantastic flying operation there boasting a large fleet of training aircraft and well as a terrific view of the commercial runway from the restaurant patio. Thanks VFC!

Etienne White (right, at left) from the British Columbia Region. Congratulation Etienne on your success in this competition. Etienne received the Eunice Carter Memorial Award dedicated to the former Webster administrator, as well as a framed print from Canada’s foremost aviation artist Mr. Robert Bradford.

The Webster Competition successfully takes place every year with the help of numerous volunteers and sponsors. Our main sponsor Air Canada, is steadfast in their support and sponsorship and so we send a sincere thank you to Air Canada and Capt. Doug Bastow for attending the Awards Banquet. We’d also like to thank Capt. Steve Thompson and the Snowbirds for attending the banquet, providing a ride in a Snowbird Tutor for the winner and personally signing the mounted lithographs depicting the Snowbird team which were presented to all the Regional Winners. A big thank you goes out to Sennheiser Canada and representative Tim Mell for providing the winner and runner-up with top of the line noise canceling headsets; an appreciated bonus! Without the Trophies there would be no presentations, therefore we thank the Canadian Aviation Museum for making these trophies available each year for their symbolic presentation. Transport Canada plays a huge part in the success of this competition and without the two inspectors from Ottawa we would not have a flying competition. Thank you Pierre and Paul! There are many behind the scenes people to thank so this is an extended thanks to everyone not mentioned above, in particular the friends and family of the Regional Finalists who came across Canada to show their support and be here for the whole week!
